Ladies Football Match Report : Scoil Pól 8 - 4 Crosshaven 1 - 4
07th October 2014

Another year for the Gaelic Football girls. We have been training in earnest since the first week in September. This year we aim to match if not improve on our season last year. The senior girls reached the Munster semi-final, and the junior girls competed in the Munster final.
Our first Senior match was against Crosshaven secondary school yesterday the 7th of October in the Mallow GAA Complex. Mr Dan Somers, Mr Owen Walsh and Miss Sinead Duggan (trainers) had picked the team and were looking forward to seeing the team in their first competitive game this year. Shannon Doherty (6th year) was delighted to be made captain, and she gave a rousing pre-match speech.

The girls started well, and within 10 minutes were 2 goals and 2 point up on the Crosshaven Girls. At half time the score was Scoil Pol 4-3, Crosshaven 1-1. The second half saw our girls pull away from their opponents and this gave us the chance to empty our bench. The subs played just as good as the starting 15 and we finished out the game Scoil Pol 8-4, Crosshaven 1-4.
SCORES:
Valerie Riordan 2-1, Shannon Doherty 3 goals, Shannon Ahern 1-1, Leanne Ferewn 1 goal, Marguritte Frewen 1 goal, Aoife Hanley 1 point, Mary Ellen Lyons 1 point.
