Scoil Pól Awards Night

On Friday September 26th, we held out annual Awards Evening to honour our students hard work, dedication and excellence over the past year. This year we were delighted to welcome back Ms. Louisa Power.

Louisa Power completed her secondary school education in Scoil Pól in 2003. She is a First Class Honours graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In her address to parents, teachers and students in Scoil Pól, on the occasion of the Awards’ Ceremony 2014, Louisa made the following comments about Scoil Pól:
“When I walked through the doors this evening, I was immediately struck by the fact that the unique relationship between staff and students, which I experienced as a student here, still remains.”

“The five years that I spent in Scoil Pól fostered my innovative spirit.... As a student in Scoil Pól, the teachers always inspired us to break new ground, to be inventive and to be, as Ghandi challenged, the difference we wish to see in the world.”
“The value of respect, inspired by the ethos of Scoil Pól, has remained with me... a vital ingredient in my work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. When we respect others, we learn empathy and through empathy we demonstrate compassion... The Pastoral Care team in Scoil Pól embodied respect, empathy, care and compassion...”
“The science department in Scoil Pól taught me the balance between faith and science”
“The award winners this evening have benefited from the same academic excellence and dynamic life skills that have inspired and motivated generations of Scoil Pól students.”
