Bridge Suicide Watch Volunteers speak to 6th yearslsw

"I can" was the main message from an inspiring talk from Limerick Suicide Watch to our 6th years and leaving certificate applied students. Many thanks to Mike, Sarah, Ger and the star of the show Dog Vern.  Comments from teachers and students  alike to "the great talk". A "honest, open and positive talk" about your mental health and how it's often the second time you ask people are they okay before you get the real answer.

First year history meet archaeologist Dr. Stephen Mandal. 

Our first year history students recently had the opportunity to meet with archaeologist Dr. Stephen Mandal. During the talk students analysed ancient artefacts and learned about the work of an archaeologist. Many thanks to Stephen for his patience and knowledge.

Agricultural Science Trip Agri Science Trip

Our 5th and 6th year agricultural science students went on a trip recently to Pat O Brien's farm in New Inn Co. Tipperary. The purpose of the trip was to see commercial grade potato production as part of their leaving cert project research. The students were brought through the process of sowing, cultivation practices, harvesting and storage of several varieties of potatoes.This was a very enjoyable and educational trip and the sun shone down on us. Many thanks to Pat O Brien for his patience and knowledge.

6th Year History Trip 2016 gpo

Our 6th year history class went on a history tour to Dublin on October 5th 2016, where they visited the Witness History Exhibition in the GPO and then went to the Dáil where they met local ministers Tom Neville, Niall Collins and Maurice Quinlivan.

Scoil Pól Book Club jcbookclub

The Book Club takes place in the school library every Tuesday at lunchtime from 1.15 to 1.35 and is available to all first, second and third year students. Students can rent a book from the school library, swap books with friends, get involved in creative writing, book reviews etc and is a nice way for students to make new friends while also improving their reading skills.
