Inaugural Badminton Outing 2016
On Wednesday December 7th a select group of Scoil Pól students ventured to Villiers in Limerick for our first Badminton match. The panel was made up of Lorenzo, Paola, Mimi, Carlos, Jack Barrett, Kevin Cooke, Oisin Browne, Shane O'Sullivan and Conor O Leary. Some of our members play on a regular basis in Martinstown but for some it was their first ever competition. Everyone played a mixture of singles and doubles while also umpiring games. A total of 28 games were played and we are glad to say Scoil Pól came up trumps! We would like to thank Villiers for inviting us to play and also for the refreshments they provided after the game. The future looks promising for our badminton stars and hopefully we can continue our success in 2017.

All Ireland Hunter Trials

The All Ireland Hunter Trials Interschools is an event that takes place every year and is hosted by the winning school of the previous year. Students have to complete a cross country track on their horse of approx 2/3 miles and participants have to jump approx 30 solid obstacles, these include water jumps, drains, hedgegrows, telegraph poles, etc. Last year Scoil Pol competed in the team event and individual event in Co. Carlow on a Saturday in March. The team event is the highlight of the day, this is where all 3 riders must complete every obstacles correctly and have the quickest time to win. Our team consisted of Sarah O'Neill, Danielle Magner & Aoife O'Sullivan. Eibhlis Hayes also competed in the Junior Individual competition.
