TY receive certificates for Build a Bank Programme

On the 6th May 2015, A group of Transition Year's, accompanied by Mr O' Hara, collected their Certificates of Merit, at a Ceremony in the Kilmallock Branch of AIB, for their participation in the Build-A-Bank programme.

AIB Build a Bank Challenge – Scoil Pól 2011-2012
Scoil Pól took the first steps towards the formation of their school bank team, which of course was through the interviews which were held in October. This was a good experience for the students and for many, their first interview. The school bank is kindly sponsored by Allied Irish Bank, Kilmallock, and the interviews were conducted by Sarah Noonan of A.I.B.

Fifth year students were competing for six available positions including Bank Manager, Assistant Manager, Sales and Marketing Executive, two Tellers and an Auditor. The students were informed by letter of the results of the interview and the following received positions:
Bank Manager: Jess Quinn
Assistant Manager: Megan Cleary
Sales and Marketing Executive: Lucy McGrath
Tellers: Aisling McDonnell and John O'Neil.
Auditor: Ellen Casey

There are three support students: Cliona Walsh, Marie O' Brien and Lorna Sheehy.
The bank is now up and running for business every Thursday at 1.15 under the guidance of Karen O' Mahony from AIB Kilmallock. Students can open accounts and save for activities including school tours, the Debs ball, and class activities.

Latest News..

Music Notes is the school bank established in Scoil Pól as part of the AIB Build a Bank Competition 2011/12. After filling out application forms and participating in interviews the bank team was selected from the 5th year classes. Bank Manager: Jess Quinn, Assistant Bank Manager: Megan Cleary, Auditor: Ellen Casey, Sales & Marketing: Lucy McGrath, Tellers: John O'Neill and Aisling McDonnell.

The Bank was set up in the school's music room and was open every Thursday at lunch. The Bank carried out numerous marketing campaigns, such as a Christmas raffle. The team also informed the student body about banking and encouraged students to save money for school tours, debs etc. By incorporating the bank with music, the bank was a student friendly environment and was very popular in the school.

We would like to thank the AIB staff who helped us with our School Bank, from the interview stage to setting up the bank, running it on a weekly basis and entering the competition: a special word of thanks to Sarah Noonan student officer AIB and Karen O' Mahony AIB.
